Vision
VISION

Uniqueness, sustainability and function. My art is a reflection of the world within and around. Clay and paint are mediums of expression of my feelings and emotions. Throughout the years of my artistic journey I've learned that playfulness and freedom to do whatever I desire are my most cherished companions of self-expression, leading me on a path to creating unique art objects. Artworks that are not only authentic and sustainable, but also - for the most part - functional.

The process of creation is with truthful spontaneity of a playing child. This exploration of media, techniques and meanings, combined with an exciting element of surprise is always propelling me towards new horizons, opening new possibilities, pushing me farther, higher, and constantly shape me into a new artist.

The Journey

The Journey

Nate's artistic journey started as a child watching his mother work wonders with a wheel. His fascination with clay was born.

He received his degree at SCAD, Savannah College of Art and Design. Going through high school and college, he was often asked by other alumni for advice. But the rebellious and unscrupulous nature of his creative ideas wouldn't impressed the teachers!

Everything changes. Everything flows.

Nate went on through the years - in relentless search for what felt like the most authentic creative expression. Exploring new techniques, meanings and artistic desires – a reflection on a trajectory of life experiences. The years of unapologetic creative pursue made NADI come to life. Welcome!

1990's
The Naughty and The Distress

Coming back from Europe was a life changing experience. The masters were a breath of liberty. Graffiti was starting to take over, and was very intriguing. But where to go from here? The inspiration comes from many, however there is always a time and a place for everything. Moving to LA, Nathan didn't have a studio for clay, so he did what came natural to him, threw paint on canvas. Finding things on the side of the road was a perfect way to assemble creative material. He started with refurbishing and creating new unique objects and mixed media artworks.

Early 2000's
Street Art & Rock 'n' Roll

Living in Venice. Everything. The people, the art and music....All coming together. But yet, the direction is unclear. "If there is anything I've learned from this period, it's that if you are not a part of this special community. You are not invited! That is when he decided to buy canvas and began creating one painting after the other. Shaped by overwhelming variety of ever-present influences – street art, music, personal falls – Nathan kept painting. A lot, that is! What an immensely productive period, BUT... something was still missing. The desire of having access to a ceramic studio was still alive. The one he found in Manhattan Beach turned out to be a perfect stepping stone. This is where the hand building process began. The clay re-entered his creative pursue.

Late 2000's
Venice Sunsets

Nathan began combining the sculpture and the paint. That is when the idea of creating functional pieces came alive.

One with the family. The old and the new meet in full circle as Nathan returns to Florida. Continuing his passion for the arts, Nathan has been steadily moving towards more positive spaces, keeping the edge of reality in his vision. Decades of his creative pursue and artistic evolution gave birth to NADI. NADI aspires to not only produce compelling artwork but to be a lifestyle brand that combines Nathan's unique vision of beauty with a true practical function. And doing so sustainably, with deep respect for Mother Earth. So much more to come!
